Power Steering Pump - (4.0L): Installation

  1. Install the power steering pump.
    • Clean the component mating faces.
    • Install and tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb.ft).
  2. Connect the power steering supply hose to the steering pump.
    • Clean the component mating faces.
    • Secure with the clip.
  3. Connect the high pressure line to the steering pump.
    • Clean the component mating faces.
    • Install new seals.
    • Tighten the union to 25 Nm (18 lb.ft).
  4. Install the accessory drive belt.
  5. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Specifications article.
  6. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Filling and Bleeding article.
