Emission Maintenance Reminder Reset - Procedure 01

Emission maintenance reminder is designed to activate at 82, 500 and 165, 000 miles respectively and will illuminate a Red SERVICE ENGINE warning light in instrument panel. The emission maintenance reminder must be reset after required maintenance has been carried out and a NEW tamper-proof label installed. This emission maintenance reminder is part of the Emission Control System.
Maintenance reminder is reset through a control unit. Control unit is located in the passenger footwell behind the front, center of center console. It has a 5-pin connector. Remove the control unit from the plug connector. Remove the label covering the access hole. Insert small metallic probe into access hole in top of control unit, and momentarily electrically short between reset pins in unit.
