Tire Pressure Sensor: Removal

  1. Remove tire and wheel assembly from vehicle.
  2. Dismount tire from wheel following tire changer manufacturer's instructions while paying special attention to the following to avoid damaging the pressure sensor:
    • The bead breaker must not be used within 90 degrees of the tire valve in each direction. To avoid damage to the tire low pressure sensor, release the tire bead from the rim, 180 degrees from the valve.
    • When using tire removal machine, the fitting arm start position must be positioned as shown. See Fig 1. The wheel can then be rotated through 180 degrees in a counterclockwise direction. This will relieve the high tension from the tire bead, allowing remaining 180 degrees of the tire to be manually pulled from rim.
  3. CAUTION: DO NOT push on valve.
  4. Remove tire pressure sensor. Remove nut. See Fig 2 and Fig 3 . Release and withdraw the sensor along the valve axis.
