NOTE: This applies to all model years Discovery 3 & 4/LR3 & 4, Range Rover Sport, Evoque and Freelander 2/LR2

ISSUE

Bonnet switches are being replaced and when tested by supplier are found to be fault free.

CAUSE

Incorrect diagnosis of bonnet switch failure.

ACTION

Content:

A test has been added to confirm the correct operation of the bonnet switch before replacement. This is part of the bonnet switch replacement procedure in the workshop manual under the following location.

GTR Workshop Manual section > 4 ELECTRICAL > 419 ELECTRONIC FEATURE GROUP > 419-01A ANTI-THEFT - ACTIVE > REMOVAL and INSTALLATION HOOD SWITCH.

If the switch is found to operate correctly please check bonnet catch settings.

An improved switch, part number LR041431 was introduced at vin numbers.
