SERVICE INFORMATION

Symptom 503000 Automatic Transmission Engagement Concerns

ISSUE

Roadside assistance reports of Customer being unable to shift the vehicle out of the park position. DTC P1707-72 is found to be stored in the TCM (Transmission Control Module).

CAUSE

EPRL (Emergency Park Release Lever) not locked down from PDI.

ACTION

The EPR lever is exposed while in transit. As stated in the Pre-Delivery Inspection Manual, the EPR lever must be locked down securely prior to handover of the vehicle to the Customer. Failure to carry out this instruction could lead to the concern detailed in this SSM.
