CONCERN
Jaguar Land Rover and the supplier have inspected 101 warranty claims for Heated Oxygen Sensors (HO2S). 23% were found to have no defects.
CAUSE
One possible reason for this is that all HO2S sensors are replaced when only one is unserviceable.
It is also possible that the DTC information is not clear about which sensor to change, or the correct test method to make a decision whether the sensor works correctly or not.
ACTION
Follow the updated TOPIx section 303-14 Diagnosis and testing - Electronic Engine Controls DTC: Heated Oxygen Sensors (HO2S). This will improve the accuracy of the repair and reduce unnecessary work.
