ISSUE
Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) stored in the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) module relating to an error state with a Wheel Speed Sensor only.
CAUSE
Currently under investigation.
ACTION
Carry out a fault code read of the ABS system using Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD) and follow the on screen guidance with reference to TOPIx to determine the concern. If any of the fault codes recorded relate to an ABS wheel speed sensor then please perform the following diagnostics:
- Confirm ABS wheel speed sensor circuit is OK and ensure the connectors are secure and latched. Please refer to the attachments for the relevant connector numbers and locations.
- Confirm integrity of ABS module ground points ensuring security of the terminal/stud and check for any signs of paint contamination.
- Confirm integrity of ABS module permanent and ignition power supply.
NOTE:
Once the diagnosis is complete - if the fault is identified as being with the ABS wheel speed sensor - please replace the component and raise an ePQR detailing the issue along with the stored DTC. Workshop manual section 206-09A.
