ISSUE

At Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI), a number of vehicles have been identified with discharged batteries. As the vehicle is fitted with a transit relay, this should prevent discharge, by disconnecting the battery after 30s

CAUSE

Possible transit relay malfunction

ACTION

Content:

If a vehicle is identified as having a discharged battery at PDI, please keep the original transit relay aside, label it with the vehicle VIN and submit an ePQR for the concern. Land Rover will then raise a Part Return Request to analyze a small sample batch of transit relays. This SSM will be open for a period of one month only up to 1st August 2012 and then deleted.
