SERVICE INFORMATION
(Symptom 207000 Entertainment Systems)
This SSM applies only to 2012 model year vehicles and later.
CONCERN
The system message "Parking Aid Cameras Unavailable. Please consult your dealer" may be displayed in the HLDF without any Parking Aid or Parking Aid Camera faults present in the vehicle.
CAUSE
The warning message is stored in the HLDF's temporary cache memory. The vehicle displaying the fault message encountered a fault with a Parking Aid system component at an earlier time prior to the fault being rectified or even seen.
CORRECTION
This message as stated is only stored in the HLDF temporary memory and may not be a true indication of a system fault. Identify that there are no faults stored within the Parking Aid system components. If faults are found, refer to the relevant Topix Diagnosis and Testing sections for diagnostic aid with rectifying any Parking Aid system faults.
When the vehicle is free of Parking Aid faults:
- switch the ignition off
- lock the vehicle,
- allow the vehicle to remain locked for 7 minutes
The HLDF needs to shut down completely in order to clear its temporary memory. The concern described is normal system behavior and does not require additional diagnosis (assuming the Parking Aid Systems are fault free). If you require further technical assistance contact the Land Rover Technical Helpline.
