CONDITION SUMMARY
Situation: Additional force required to operate the horn, the horn will work if the horn pad is pushed with sufficient force. This version has been issued to add Land Rover Freelander 2 models and make changes to the Parts, Warranty and Service Instruction sections.
Cause: Contacts in the horn pad are wearing out. Suggested Customer Concern Code - A34.
Action: Should a customer express concern, follow the Service Instruction outlined below.

NOTE:
Land Rover Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport - Always install the new switch as supplied with the attached link harness.

SERVICE INSTRUCTION
NOTE:
Land Rover Freelander 2 only, order left and right horn switches and either a heated or non heated harness.
All vehicles.
- Remove the steering wheel air bag (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 501-20).
All vehicles except Range Rover (LM)

NOTE: Switches must be replaced as a pair.NOTE: Land Rover Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport - Always install the new switch as supplied with the attached link harness.
Replace both steering wheel switch packs.
For Range Rover (LM)

NOTE: Switches must be replaced as a pair.
- Remove both steering wheel switch packs.
- Locate the white 2 pin connector on the right switch pack. Open the connector ready to install the repair wire.
- Install the repair wire into the vacant cavity number 2.
- Locate the white four pin plug on the airbag wiring harness. Separate out the red wire from pin 4.
- Using the harness repair kit create a spliced joint between the red wire and the repair wire (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 418-02).
- Install the repair wire into the airbag wiring harness with insulating tape.
All vehicles.
- Install the steering wheel air bag (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 501-20).
