CONDITION SUMMARY

Situation:  A rattling/vibrating noise from underneath the vehicle when driving on an uneven road surface may be evident.

Cause:  This may be caused by a cracked transmission heat shield mounting bracket.

Action:  Should a customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction outlined below.

SERVICE INSTRUCTION

NOTE: some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.
WARNING: do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 100-02: Jacking and Lifting).
  2. Remove and discard the transmission heat shield mounting bracket.

  3. Install the new transmission heat shield mounting bracket.
    • Torque: 9 Nm
  4. Lower the vehicle.
