PROBLEM
Damage/Corrosion underbody components
CAUSE
Inappropriate use of high pressure washing equipment.
ACTION
The use of high pressure washing equipment has the potential to reduce the life of certain vehicle components. In some cases, extreme pressure may force water inside a component, which potentially could lead to corrosion and reduced component life or function.
Content
When performing high pressure washing of vehicle under body and suspension/wheel areas, please note:
- Do not aim the water jet directly at any rubber gaiters or seals on suspension joints.
- Ensure that the nozzle is always more than 300mm away from any vehicle components.
- If the operating pressure is greater than 100 Bar, take extra care to keep the nozzle further away from the suspension components.
