CONDITION SUMMARY

Situation:  A customer may express a concern of the Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) warning lamp flashing on the instrument cluster. The following diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) may be stored in the AFS module.

This version has been created to amend the Diagnostic Procedure. 

Cause:  A software concern.

Suggested Customer Concern Code - JJ3. 

Action:  Should a customer express this concern, follow the Diagnostic Procedure below.

Configure the headlamp levelling control module using diagnostic equipment 86.90.62  0.2 42 LR010521
NOTE: Normal Warranty procedures apply.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

CAUTION: This procedure requires SDD DVD142.03 and Calibration File 212 loaded or later.
  1. Connect the JLR approved battery support unit.
  2. Connect SDD to the vehicle and begin a new diagnostic session, by reading the vehicle identification number (VIN) for the current vehicle and initiating the data collect sequence.
  3. Follow the SDD prompts.
  4. If the hyperlink is not available, the application can be found as follows:
    • Select the Diagnosis Session Type.
    • Select the following symptom:
      • Electrical > Instruments > Warning lamps > Adaptive front lighting system lamp > Lamp illuminated
    • From 'Recommendations', run: Configure existing module - Headlamp control module
  5. If the fault code B1041-54  occurs after the configuration of the headlamp levelling control module perform the following.
    • Select service functions
    • Run: Lighting - Headlamp control module system calibration
  6. When all tasks are complete, exit the current session by selecting the Session tab and then selecting the Close Session option.
  7. Disconnect SDD and the JLR approved battery support unit.
