SERVICE INFORMATION

Symptom 201000 Lighting Systems

ISSUE

Discolouration and/or distortion to the head lamp and/or fog lamp lens.

CAUSE

If the head lamps or fog lamps are switched on for a period of more than 10 minutes with the body protection kit fitted, there is a possibility that the lens may overheat. In extreme cases this can result in the lens becoming discoloured or distorted and replacement required.

ACTION

If during repair the head lamp and/or fog lamps are covered, please ensure they are switched off (including Auto mode) and remain off until the body protection is removed. If diagnosis requires the lamps to be switched on with the body protection fitted either ensure adequate ventilation of the lamps or limit the time to less than one minute for which they are switched on.
