Situation: A lower-level service repair is now available in the event a front-to-rear brake pipe requires replacement.
Cause: The front-to-rear brake pipes may require replacement for various reasons.
Action: In the event it becomes necessary to replace the front-to-rear brake pipe, follow the Service Instruction outlined below.

SERVICE INSTRUCTION
- Remove the exhaust system (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 309-00).
- Remove the exhaust manifold heatshield (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 309-00).NOTE: Vehicles fitted with auxiliary climate control will require the system to drained. The connections just in front and to the rear of the heel board will be required to be split (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 412-00).
- Overlay the replacement brake pipes and mark the pipe up ready to cut.
- Cut the brake pipe allowing sufficient length to carry out the fitment of the new brake union.
- Repeat steps 3- 4 to the other brake pipe.
- Using a suitable brake pipe flaring tool, carry out a double flare and fit the new brake unions to the retained brake pipes.
- Disconnect the brake pipes from the rear brake hoses and discard brake pipes.
- Install the new brake pipes to the rear brake hoses.
- Repeat steps 6- 8 to the other brake pipe.NOTE: Vehicles fitted with auxiliary climate control will require the system to be recharged (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 412-00).
- Carry out a local bleed to the rear brakes (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 206-00).
- Install the exhaust manifold heatshield (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 309-00).
- Install the exhaust system (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 309-00).
