CONDITION SUMMARY

Situation:  On vehicles fitted with standard brakes (360mm/14.2in front brake discs) only, a squeal noise from the front brakes may be evident at when traveling forward and progressively braking to a stop.

Cause:  This may be caused by the front brake pads and abutment springs.

Action:  In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the REPAIR PROCEDURE  outlined below to install new front brake pads and abutment springs.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

REPLACE FRONT BRAKE PADS AND ABUTMENT SPRINGS

NOTE: The rubber coated abutment springs must be installed to the trailing edge of the brake caliper carrier.
  1. Refer to Workshop Manual section 206-03 and install new front brake pads and abutment springs.
