REPAIR PROCEDURE

NOTE: Technical Bulletin LTB00400, Steering Wheel Shimmy / Vibration While Driving, must be completed on eligible vehicles (as a separate claim). Only if the judder / vibration is still evident should the Repair Procedure outlined below be performed.
  1. Before replacing brake discs and pads, refer to Workshop Manual, section 206-00: Front Brake Disc Runout Check - With Wheel On  , and 204-00: Front Hub Runout Check, to ensure that the judder condition is indeed being caused by excessive runout of the discs or hubs and not some other condition such as non-approved wheels / tires or damaged steering / suspension components.
NOTE: New brake discs / pads must be 'bed-in' correctly; refer to Workshop Manual section 206-00: Brake Pad Bedding-in for complete instructions.
    • If discs have excessive runout, refer to Workshop Manual, section 206-03: Front Brake Disc,  and replace the front brake discs and pads.
    • If hub(s) have excessive runout, refer to Workshop Manual, section 204-01: Front Wheel Bearing and Hub  , and replace the hub(s) as necessary. To be carried out as a separate claim.
