SERVICE INFORMATION

Symptom 499000 Basic Engine

ISSUE

Check engine light illuminated. DTC(s) relevant to a purge valve concern stored in the PCM.

DTC's below could potentially indicate a concern with the purge valve.

P0442 - Small leak

P0444 - Purge valve circuit open

P0456 - Very small leak

P0458 - Purge control valve circuit low

P0459 - Purge control valve circuit high

P0496 - Evap system high purge flow

P0497 - Evap system low purge flow

SSM is applicable to the following vehicles -

Discovery 4/LR4 13MY onwards fitted with the 5.0L NA

Engine

New Range Rover (L405) - All gasoline engine derivatives

New Range Rover Sport (L494) - All gasoline engine derivatives

ACTION

If the diagnostic process on SDD results in the purge valve being replaced then please retain the old purge valve and raise a Quality Report EPQR so that a part return can be set up.
