Symptom 508000 Transfer Case Concerns

Content

Land Rover are currently investigating components replaced under warranty applicable to the twin speed transfer case fitted to Range Rover (L405), Range Rover Sport (L494) and Discovery 4 (L319). When tested on return, the majority of electric/electronic components replaced (Transfer Box Control Module, Motor Solenoid, Actuator Motor and Actuator Motor Position Sensor) have been found to be fault free. This could lead to incorrect diagnosis and the risk of repeat customer concerns.

ACTION

To assist engineering investigation, if any of the following DTC's are stored in the Transfer Box Control Module - P0712-00, P0713-00, P181E-64, P181E-93, P181F-64, P183A-54, P183A-62, P183A-67, P183A-77, P183A-93, P186D-71, P18A0-64, P18A1-16, P18A5-15, U0001-81, U3003-62, you are requested to submit a FRED request prior to any work being carried out on the affected vehicle to allow JLR engineers an opportunity to view the vehicle in a failed state..

NOTE: DTC's must not be cleared and no work should be carried out on the vehicle prior to the FRED submission.
