Transmission Fluid Pan, Gasket And Filter: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
    WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. See Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill .
  3. Refer to Transmission Support Crossmember - 5.0L article.

  11. Detach the transmission fluid pan from the transmission.
    CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
    NOTE: The component cannot be removed at this stage.

  15. Remove the transmission control module and the transmission fluid pan.
