WARNING:
The spilling of fuel is unavoidable during this operation. Ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent fire and explosion.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Specifications .
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover - 4.0L
.
- Release the clip and disconnect the purge line.
- Remove the fuel rail Schraeder valve cap.
- Install the special tool to the fuel rail Schraeder valve.
- Open the valve on the special tool, release the fuel pressure and allow the fuel to drain into a container.
- Close the special tool valve.
- Remove the special tool from the Schraeder valve.
- Remove the container.
- Install the Schraeder valve cap.
- Connect the purge line.
- Clean the component mating faces.
- Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover - 4.0L .
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Specifications .
